blog is the companion to my ink-on-paper cook book, "The Courtyard Kitchen". It
includes some of my favorite recipes. Other recipes have been
contributed by friends and colleagues. The vast majority of them were made and photographed in my own kitchen.
The book is aimed at the home cook, with simple preparation and accessible ingredients, with a few involved recipes thrown in to challenge the more ambitious.
I'm a firm believer in dissemination of useful knowledge, so the recipes are freely available on this webpage. However, all the proceeds from the initial printing run were donate to the Birmingham Free Clinic in Pittsburgh. UPDATE: For the second printing run in 2017, I'm donating copies to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to be auctioned off.
If you are a new visitor, the recipe list is a good place to start (it is also permanently linked at the top of this page). New recipes will be continuously added as they are contributed, even after the publication of the book. Bon appetit !
